Kabza De Small recently pulled through for Boity Thulo’s birthday bash after DJ Maphorisa was allegedly arrested for assaulting his girlfriend, Thuli Phongolo.

According to Sunday World, the DJ – born Themba Sonnyboy Sekowe – was arrested just before he was set to headline Boity’s 33rd birthday party at the club Konka in Soweto.

The publication also reports that the Ba Straata hitmaker allegedly assaulted Thuli at an apartment in Sandton. Thuli had reportedly said in a statement, “I confronted him to talk about our argument, which happened the previous night during his gig. He held me and took me to the balcony, and grabbed me aggressively by my neck.”

Sunday World also reports that the former Generations: The Legacy star’s management team stated that the actress was with her road manager when she went to the police to open a case of assault against the DJ.

Thuli has since withdrawn the case against DJ Maphorisa. After the case was heard, the Midnight Starring producer was granted R4000 bail. According to City Press, the DJ’s bail condition will remain effective until the charges are officially withdrawn.

Maphorisa and Kabza, whose real name is Kabelo Motha, are also set to release a mixtape. The joint venture is titled The Konka Mixtape and is set to be released next week Friday, 19 May.
