South African comedian Trevor Noah has left The Daily Show. During his send off the comedian had an epic farewell as high profile celebrities and politicians thanked the comedian for his contribution to the American political and media diaspora.

Thursday marked the end of an era for Trevor as The Daily Show host.

In October, the comedian announced he was leaving the popular talk show after seven years. His comedy career will continue on Comedy Central as he focuses more on his comedy shows.

The Daily Show official Twitter account shared a video of some of Hollywood’s elite and US politicians saying heartfelt and hilarious farewells to Trevor.

The celebs and politicians that were featured in the video were Oprah, Bill Gates, Issa Rae, Tracee Ellis Ross, the deputy president of America Kamala Harris, Jesse Williams, Hillary Clinton, are among the faces in the video.

During the final episode of The Daily Show, Trevor was emotional when bidding farewell and expressed his gratitude to the millions who have watched the show.

“Honestly, most importantly, I’m grateful to you. Every single one of you. I remember when we started the show, we couldn’t get enough people to fill an audience. Then I look at this now, I don’t take it for granted, ever. Every seat that has ever been filled to watch something I’m doing I always appreciate because I know the empty seat that sits behind it. Thank you people who watch, people who share the clips, everyone’s who’s had an opinion

“Special shout out to black women. I’ve often been credited for having these grand ideas. Who do you think teaches me? My mom, my gran.”
