Now that the weather is warmer, days are longer and most people are on holiday. Summer is an exciting time for the dating scene as people finally have some time to go on new dates or the ones they have been avoiding due to ‘being too busy’.

According to Here are a few first date mistakes you should look out for to avoid your date saying “I could not wait for that to end”

Being late

No one enjoys being held up, it’s summer so chances are someone sacrificed their time to go on a date with you. Be punctual so that the vibes are good from the get go. If you are running late, ensure that you communicate with your date.

Rudeness to service people

A lot of people find this very unattractive and make a terrible first impression. You may come off as being entitled when you are rude to the waiter. If you are experiencing bad service from the waiter, simply just report them to the manager and ask to be served by another waiter.

Overindulging on alcohol

Drinking on the date is perfectly fine, having a glass or two of wine or a cocktail on the date is okay however, too much of something can be a problem. The last thing you want is too get too drunk and not having control over your words and actions. Ensure that you stay present and in control.

Checking your phone

Constantly checking your phone will make you seem bored and distracted. It is the first date, you want to make sure that you give your date all the attention. If you really need to check your phone, apologise for doing so or go to the restroom to do so.

Talking too much about yourself

Talking too much, especially if all you are talking about is yourself can get quite annoying for your date. Make sure conversation flows back and forth, and don’t make it hard for the other person to get a word in. If the person you’re with isn’t talking much, try open-ended questions.
