Be a distinguished brand ambassador of yourself, no better person can represent you better than yourself.

Personal branding is about identification, knowing who you are and promoting what you stand for. 

According to influencer hub, your brand is your image and what people view you to be or how people see your profile online. Personal branding is not only for celebrities or influencers but individual people as well. 

It is defined and is a collection of your experiences, values and what you stand for. For example, if you constantly fight and share public opinions against Gender Based Violence (GBV), some people might view you as an activist, based on your activism work.

According to Forbes, These are some basic rules you can follow in order to have a personal brand that stands out:

Be Genuine 

What makes you special as an individual is that, you’re unique and no one can be a better you than yourself. You can’t please everyone because in doing so you lose yourself in the process.

Tell A story 

What is it that you would like people to know about you, what would people say when they talk about you in your absence. Knowing who you are will make it easy for you to control your narrative.

Be consistent 

Being focused on your narrative by not only just saying things but frequently acting on what you believe in, Forbes continues saying “you have to demonstrate consistency across your communication, gravitas, and appearance. Don’t underestimate how tiny inconsistencies can derail personal brand effectiveness.”

Create a positive impact 

Always remember you are your brand, creating lasting memories on people will depend on what you do. Grow your brand beyond image and expand to work with other people to build a steady growing following.

Live your brand

Stay true to yourself, if your brand is authentic then it shouldn’t be difficult to live your personal life.
