Our December cover star, Amapiano vocalist, Papi Cooper has released her highly anticipated Waga Bietjie music video. The star studded music video has appearances from Focalistic, Ntando Duma, Khanyisa Jaceni, Primo Baloyi, Chiccoalo, Sibongile Gundu and Sphokuhle N.

The music video story line portrays Papi as a member of a gang called the ‘Pitori Super League’ and she gets arrested, questioned and eventually escapes prison with the help of fellow gang members. The video ends with  ‘To be continued’ which leads us to think her next music video will be a continuation of the story line.

The wardrobe and make-up departments outdid themselves, there are multiple outfit changes and each of them are incredibly put together. The casting of fellow industry peers aligns with who they are in their careers, our favorites has to be Khanyisa Jaceni as a judge and Primo Baloyi as a Detective.

Her fans and industry peers couldn’t contain their excitement in the comment section when she teased the music video and had this to say:

“VISUALSSSSSS!!!!!!! INVESTMENT!!!!! BUDGET!!!!!??” exclaimed @coachella.randy

“Lepantiti la style???” joked @masego.mothapo loosely translated as ‘a prisoner with style’

“Ishuuuu ????this song is taking us to 2023,” said @brendamonareng

“The visuals are top tier ?” said @thickleeyonce

Music video lovers couldn’t help but notice the glaring similarities between the music video and American Rapper Cardi B’s  Press music video and you know what? We love a good Inspo with a South African twist.

It looks like its about to be a booked and busy festive season for Papi and we can’t wait to see more from her.
