Zakes Bantwini announces Grammy nomination

South African singer Zakes Bantwini took to his social media timeline to celebrate his first Grammy nomination at the world’s most prestigious international music awards.

The dance musician producer has been nominated in the Best Global Music Performance category for his single with Wouter Kellerman and Nomcebo Zikode titled Bayethe. He’ll be competing with Burna Boy’s Last Last and Matt B & Eddy Kenzo’s Gimme Love, among others. 

The musician shared in excitement with his fans capturing the post:  

“I’ve just received my first Grammy nomination ?, God is the greatest ?? #grammy65.”

Many of his celebrity friends along with fans where overjoyed regarding the news as they flooded the comment section with congratulatory messages.

His very own wife Nandi Madida shared in the excitement as she congratulated her hubby with a sweet post in the comment section saying:

“More Grammys and Grammy nominations to come in the future ❤️,” she wrote.
The Queen B was also in the comment section as she congratulated the musician saying:
“Yessssssirrrrr ??????? congratulations ?,” Bonang wrote.
Makhadzisa: “Congratulations ???? this is huge.“
Djzinhle: “Congratulations ??.”
Thando_thabethe: “Congratulations ??”
Duchessofwisbeach: “I can’t imagine a more deserving candidate ?❤️‍? You don’t even need an award , the people have spoken.”
Beverleydias: “This one is coming HOME!!! Congratulations, Bab’Madida ???”
According to Zalebs, Zakes began his music career in 2004 which was the same year where he started his own record label while being in his final year at DUT. 

He released his debut studio album, The Good Life in 2008. Two years later, The hitmaker released his second studio album, Love, Light and Music and this became a leeway to his ultimate success in the Southern African house music industry.
