You probably think about this on a daily basis, hair is just one of those things that we have to tackle everyday. Whether you are having a bad hair day or fantasising about what hairstyle to do next, chances are every day, especially in the morning you’ll think about your hair.

Many people strive for long and healthy hair, although there are a lot of factors that contribute to long and healthy hair like age, overall health, genetics, environmental exposure, medications and diet.

You unfortunately cannot change some of these factors like genetics and age, you can however change your diet.

Healthline recommends these 5 foods to promote hair growth:

Eggs

Eggs contain a great amount of protein and biotin, these two nutrients are essential for hair growth. Hair follicles are mainly made of proteins, so if long and healthy hair is your goal then having adequate protein will be beneficial.

According to research, A lack of protein in one’s diet has been shown to promote hair loss.

Berries

Berries are filled with vitamins and compounds that may promote hair growth.

For example, berries contain vitamin C, which has strong antioxidant properties.

Antioxidants can help protect hair follicles against damage from harmful molecules.

 Spinach

Spinach is loaded with beneficial nutrients like folate, iron, and vitamins A and C, all of which are important for hair growth

According to research, vitamin A is important for hair growth. But supplementing with too much vitamin A can actually lead to hair loss.

Avocados

Not only are avocados delicious, nutritious, and a great source of healthy fats.

They are also an excellent source of vitamin E, which may support hair growth.

Nuts

Nuts are tasty, convenient, and contain a variety of nutrients that are important for hair growth.
