Taking to her Instagram stories, Sophie went on to further explain the signs and symptoms that one should look out for to know that they are prediabetic.

According to Mayo Clinic, being prediabetic means that your blood sugar levels are higher than normal. It is however not high enough for it to be considered type 2 diabetes. When one is prediabetic, they need to make lifestyle changes so that it does not progress to type 2 diabetes.

According to the mother of three, the signs and symptoms one should look out for include:

  • Regular exhaustion
  • Wounds that heal slowly
  • Inexplicable moods swings
  • Vision problems
  • Unexpected weight increases
  • More frequent urinating
  • Issues with digestion
  • Excessive thirst and hunger
  • Joint aches

The 49 year old also stressed in her Instagram stories that with a change in diet, medication and exercise one can prevent prediabetes from developing into diabetes.
