Social media has called for the arrest of Mandla Mampintsha Maphumulo following a video of him assaulting his girlfriend and fellow musician Bongekile Babes Wodumo Simelane, went viral. In the video, recorded on Babes’ live Instagram feed, Mampintsha is seen physically assaulting her.

Celebs, government officials and the public has condemned the musician on social media through the hashtags #ArrestMampintsha and #MampintshaIsTrash.

Social media calls for Mampintsha’s arrest. Here’s a look at what they have had to say.

Arrest Mampintsha and let him face the full might of the law. There’s no rehabilitation for sexual groomers. He is poison and he is a dangerous Male!!! The media must remove anything associated with him from rotation. Ministers must act, the system must act. No more of this shit!

Arrest Mampintsha
Stop Booking Mampintsha

Sies maan. Women are weaker than men physically, and you are using that to your advantage. Should be ashamed of yourself.

I’m not exactly sure what the law says, but can’t @SAPoliceService arrest Mampintsha first just because a crime was committed and there’s proof, even if Babes hasn’t pressed charges? Babes needs support to know we have her back, I hope she presses charges and leaves,And heals.

Mampintsha needs to be stopped. I hope they make an example out of him so every man knows that hitting a woman is unacceptable and will not be tolerated. My heart breaks for Babes. ?

This guy ruined my morning. O betha mosadi ka mpama ye ka monna??? Yeses! Your woman is not your property, she’s your friend. You disagree with your friends but you don’t beat them. #ArrestMampintsha

#Mampintsha must be locked up even on mere suspicion. There is no reason why he should still be roaming the streets freely. The law must exercise its might. Justice must be done for #BabesWodumo.

What #BabesWodumo has done is a blatant cry for help. As a country we have been through a horrific week, we’ve lost #Thoriso and #Sbu to violence. Here is someone that is still alive and needs intervention of @SAPoliceService IMMEDIATELY before we lose her too. Do something now!
