R. Kelly's daughter breaks her silence over sexual abuse allegations against him

R. Kelly’s estranged daughter Buku Abi (real name Joanne Lee Kelly) has broken her silence following the sexual and physical abuse allegations against her father on the Lifetime docuseries #SurvivingRKelly. The six-part series takes a look at over three decades of sexual abuse allegations against the star through his alleged victims speaking out about their experiences.

In a long post on her Instagram, Buku shares that she’d been estranged from her father due to his actions and why she hasn’t spoken out until now. She shares in part, “to the people that feel I should be speaking up/against everything that is going on right now. I just want you all to understand that devastated is an understatement for all that I feel currently. I do apologize if my silence to all that is happening comes off as careless.”
