The doctorate recognises for his outstanding contribution to the betterment of South African society and to the global music industry.

The “Golden Troubadour” from Mamelodi, Vusi “The Voice” Mahlasela, is renowned for his powerful vocals, and poetic, soul-stirring lyrics.⠀ ⠀ In recognition of Vusi Mahlaselas outstanding contribution to the betterment of South African society and to the global music industry, the University of KwaZulu-Natal awards him it’s highest honour, Doctor of Music (honoris causa).⠀ ⠀ #UKZNSpringGrad2018
