Stepping up with KNaomi

by Kwanele Mathebula

Media personality KNaomi lets us in on her new partnership as the face of foot wear brand, Footwork’s summer campaign. By Kwanele Mathebula

Being asked to be the face of Footwork’s summer campaign came as a surprise. I had been following the brand for a while because of the collaborations that they had done with other amazing women. I didn’t think that one day I would be one of the people they would approach. But I was excited they did because I love shoes.

Working with their team was a collaborative effort. When I signed on to join Footwork, they were going through a brand revamp. This meant that the team was now made up of young people with fresh ideas. I was involved in all aspects of this collection to make sure that my brand and Footwork’s vision was well represented.

The news of me being the face of the summer campaign has been humbling. I was amazed and happy at the response from industry mates and the public. Everyone expressed their excitement at the announcement which showed me how much support I have.

The summer collection has a shoe for every type of girl. While creating the collection, I ensured that every woman would be able to find a shoe that they like. I wanted them to look and feel good in an affordable pair of shoes. There’s a lot of pressure on people to buy expensive clothes to look good. I want women to know that looking good is not about the price tag, but how the item makes you feel.

Comfort and style are the two things I look for in a pair of shoes. And that’s what I base my decisions on when shopping, and I’ve used them in creating my collection. I wore a pair of heels from the collection a few weeks ago and they were super comfortable, and everyone complimented them. This assured me that I made the right decision.
