“Doctors revealed that Linda (his real name) suffered from hemosuccus pancreaticus which is bleeding in the pancreas, pancreatic duct or structures near the pancreas such as the splenic artery, that bleed into the pancreatic duct,” read part of the statement.

Apparently before ProKid’s death on Wednesday night, he complained about stomach pain.

The family initially confirmed his death in a statement during the early hours of last Thursday morning, stating that he died of a “severe seizure”.

The post-mortem results emerged as the hip-hop industry plans to pay tribute to ProKid at a memorial service at Bassline in Johannesburg on Thursday afternooN.

The hip-hop pioneer’s family thanked fans for the overwhelming love and support since his death. This includes hundreds of fans taking to the street last Sunday where a huge mural of him was painted on a wall in Diepkloof, Soweto.

“The images of Slaghuis in Diepkloof really painted a picture of love for PRO.”

Pro will be buried at Heroes Acre after a funeral service on Sunday.
